About 70 West Counseling
“I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it.”
- Nelson Mandela
70 West is a faith-based, non-profit counseling center. Since 1995, 70 West Counseling continues to offer counseling services, support groups, and mental health education. Our purpose is to provide affordable, effective counseling for individuals, children, and families who might otherwise be unable to afford professional counseling. Our therapists are Christians by faith; however, our goal is to honor the personal beliefs of all the clients we serve. As a full-service counseling center, we offer counseling for people of all ages, stages, and life transitions. We provide a safe, non-judgmental, warm, caring, and inviting atmosphere and are dedicated to strengthening, educating, and bringing healing to our clients and their families.
70 West offers counseling services for individuals, families, couples, and children, as well as support groups and mental health education. Issues currently being addressed in the center include trauma, grief and loss, anxiety and depression, domestic violence, sexual issues, infidelity recovery, blended family parenting, sexual abuse recovery, substance abuse, and others. Available groups include Healthy Boundaries, Changes that Heal, Victims of Abuse, Soul Care, and Grief Support. Groups can vary in topics, and relationships are considered central to the counseling process. Our goal is to meet our clients where they are and come alongside them in an open-minded way.
Our counselors work under the executive director and clinical supervisor's general direction to provide quality care to those seeking counseling at 70 West. Supervision of master’s level interns and licensed professional counselor candidates (LPCCs) is accomplished through guidance in new client processing, conducting intake interviews, compiling files (including new client information, client case history, and release forms), and general client/counselor relations. The clinician may also assist in the leadership of support groups and team counseling situations. 70 West clinicians perform individual and group counseling responsibilities under the supervision of an approved educational institution and as directed by the site Supervisor
